Lovejoy focuses on Portland's fabled Lovejoy Columns--a series of fanciful paintings on concrete freeway columns made by Greek immigrant Tom Stefopoulos who, in1948, began painting while working as a switchman for the rail yard. Renwick chronicled the turbulent efforts to save and restore the columns: a series of events that could only happen in Portland and a redevelopment story with a happy ending!
